Alejandro Argumedo

Co-Director ANDES

Alejandro is a K'echua from Peru. He holds an agriculture degree from McGill University, which was followed by service with CUSO in Ecuador. He is the Director of the Quechua-Aymara Association for Sustainable Livelihoods (ANDES) based in Cusco, Peru, an action-research and advocacy indigenous organization focusing on territorial approaches to sustainable development.

He is also the founder of the Indigenous Peoples Biodiversity Network, a member of the World Commission on Protected Areas, and current coordinator of the Indigenous Peoples’ Biocultural Assessment on Climate Change (IPCCA).
