Berlinale International Film Festival - SOUFRA
The 12th Culinary Cinema will be held under the motto “Life Is Delicate” from February 18 to 23, 2018. Soufra is one of nine documentaries and a fictional film focussing on the relationship between food, culture, and politics are being presented this year.
“When it comes to cultural and political matters, sensitive decisions have to be made all the time. It’s like in a kitchen, where it’s also tricky to make, at the very least, something edible and, at the very best, something delicate,” Festival Director Dieter Kosslick says in explaining the motto.
Director Thomas Morgan and Producer Kathleen Glynn will be in attendance for post-screening Q&A.
TWO SCREENINGS:
February 21: 10:00 PM at Martin-Gropius-Bau cinema
February 22: 1:00 PM at the Cubix Cinema

PS: If you haven't already seen the Soufra Cookbook, you should take a look. Not only does this cookbook share some of the most treasured recipes that changed the lives of the Soufra women, but it also will give back to the families at the camp. The women of Soufra are full partners in the publication of this book. They will share equally in proceeds from its sales, which will contribute to the ongoing development of the camp’s Children’s Center and to building a school for the children in the camp. We've already raised over 10K for these initiatives - you can purchase the cookbook here or at the screening.
